Seeing The Dream Beyond The Now

Dream homes can come all at once or can take shape over time. For one Chaska family, their dream of a home was fulfilled by remodeling an unfinished basement into a parlour for entertaining.

This young family needed a place to watch movies, relax with friends, and gather for family game night. The biggest design challenge was to incorporate the existing curving stairway. Cutting edge electronics allow complete automation and control of the environment. A simple touch of the iPad and the shades automatically lower, the lights dim, the fire warms the room, and the TV turns on your favorite football game or romantic movie. The completion of this basement remodel provided the family with an entirely new family living experience. The family says that now when they invite guests over, as they enter the lower level, they just say “WOW”!Basement Remodel in Chaska Herald

Exposed ducts in the basement became matching curved soffits defining the bar and kitchenette. Square Douglas Fir beams were added to the ceiling to define the place for cards and an open home theater could be viewed from nearly everywhere downstairs.
